Four games this weekend and every one is going to be a barn burner this weekend. Dogs all over the place with a few sneaky second half bets to blow the doors off this Divisional Weekend.
Chargers @ Patriots is set at 5 right now. I think this is a 3 point game so even a Patriots -5 won’t be a safe call. One of the props I may take for this game is Chargers to lead at half and Patriots to win the game. The Patriots love doing the old ‘lose first half then come back in the second half’ move in the playoffs. As good as the Chargers are, I think Philly makes one too many mistakes in the cold and the Patriots squeeze out a last second field goal to win. This would give us home field for the AFC championship as well.
That’s right, I hate the Colts but I’m all over them. Colts are +5.5 against the Chiefs in Kansas City and I like the Colts straight up in this one as well. The Chiefs don’t have a defense and the Colts are one of the hottest teams in the NFL. First half Colts I like a lot which I’ll put with the full game spread too. If they get a lead, it’s going to be hard for the Chiefs to get into a rhythm because of how great the Colts run game is. They can chew clock with the best of them and because of this, Mahomes might have a little trouble finding a rhythm early. Very excited for the Frank vs Andy battle and hoping for a good one in KC.
Dallas is +7 against the Rams and this team isn’t like the other Cowboys teams we’ve seen in the past. They have a defense this year, something Dallas has never seemed to have in my recent memory. I’m taking Rams team over in this one cause I don’t know if the Cowboys secondary is good enough to hang with the McVay brain who’s cooking up touchdown play after touchdown play. That’s why I’m going money line Cowboys with the Rams team over cause I don’t see this being a 7 point game. Cowboys squeeze a win or it’s a blowout. Let’s hope the Cowboys squeeze it out and we all make a decent chunk of change.
And your NFC champion, the New Orleans Saints. Saints are -8 and I think they end up winning by a couple scores. Foles has been surgical since February 2018 so it’s tough to go against Sir Nick. However, nobody has won in the Superdome and I don’t think the Eagles are going to be the team to do it this year. After Sean Payton wheels out the trophy AND everyones Super Bowl bonus, it’s tough that team doesn’t at least run through the first one they see. Rams vs Saints would be a shootout for the ages but I think the Saints are representing the NFC this year. Naturally, the Patriots represent the AFC.
Recap: Patriots ML, Cowboys ML, Rams team over, Saints -8, Colts +5.5. That’s what I got this weekend but more than anything let’s hope for some great games. Go Pats.
I have been dreading this blog for three days…Just kept pushing it back and not coming back to it. This is me retyping it for the twelfth time. And to be honest still have no idea what to say. The first couple drafts were smashing Cody Parkey. But he doesn’t really deserve it as much, he did his job till the end and happened to miss one of the biggest fields goals of his life…but we’ll talk about that later. But let’s back it up.
In the beginning of the season everyone thought the Bears would be a below 500 team. But I had faith and I knew Mitch would have a good season. AND YES I DID NOT KNOW WHO MATT NAGY WAS BEFORE PRESEASON but as a Bears fan I’ve always had trust issues with coaches post Lovie. Trestman and Fox is the reason I didn’t know who Coach Nagy was.
Back to the game…yeah it was questionable play calls and Tarik Cohen not getting the ball as much as he should off. Also Trey Burton not playing was so weird…He was mic’ed up last week and it didn’t sound he was injured at all or they didn’t talk about it on the broadcast or postgame. I honestly believe he sat out because he didn’t want to play his old team. Having Trey there we would have had some more options for Mitch…No doubt.
So it comes down do I think this kick fucked the Bears over…
Yes, it most definitely did. And yeah it was blocked and yes the snap and hold was a little sketchy. But I think this game was decided a couple drives before this. It was third down, Philly goes for the pass its a shit pass but Adrian Amos didn’t have a good sight on the ball and he happened to get a helmet on helmet. (couldn’t find footage of it) That penalty gave the Eagles a first down and later on a touchdown. That in my head was the decider of the game. That brought the drive back to life and gave them the biggest opportunity of the game. Obviously there were more plays that added up to the loss but in my eyes that was the downfall.
And I do believe you win as a team and you lose as a team. As corny as that sounds but it’s so true. Not one person can take the sword. The team will use this sadness and have a chip on their shoulder and come back even stronger. MARK MY WORDS.
He’s done it again, that bad man Nick Foles pulled off another miracle in Chicago last night. He wasn’t at his best yesterday throwing two interceptions earlier in the game, but at the end of that game you just felt like this guy was going to get it done once again.
I honestly have no idea how this guy continues to win these games and no matter how close they are, whether the Eagles are winning or losing, it always feels like Foles is gonna pull these games out. He doesn’t feel the pressure and for whatever reason the Eagles are a better team with him at the helm rather than Carson Wentz.
The Eagles defence did their part yesterday as well lets not take anything away from them, they were great all day. At the end of the day it was on Foles to do it for them and once again he did. I have one question for you to think about and this is a very big IF. If these Eagles go into New Orleans, in the dome after losing 48-7 already this season and Foles pulls this thing off and takes them to the NFC championship. Do you still go back to Carson Wentz next year or do you finally admit this is BIG DICK NICKS team. Hope y’all enjoyed wildcard weekend as much as i did, lets have a week.
Well if your mind wasn’t already blown by the NFL this year, this weekend certainly did that for you. The Rams and Chiefs who we all thought were locks to be in the Super Bowl this year after their amazing Monday nighter, both lost at home on the weekend. The Patriots lost consecutive games in December for the first time since 2002 and now have 5 losses on the road this season.
Teams that we thought were heating up heading into the playoffs laid absolute eggs. The Seahawks lost in San Fran, the Cowboys got shutout in Indy and i would throw my Dolphins in the mix as well but i think our miracles ran out last weekend.
Then there’s the teams everyone thought was dead that turned things around. Lets start with BIG DICK NICK and the Eagles, am i crazy to say the Eagles might be a better team with him at the helm. I am by no means saying he’s better than Wentz, but for whatever reason that team just looks better with him calling the plays. We also have the Steelers who were trending in the wrong direction, lost three in a row and have always had trouble with the Pats. Mike Tomlin had a 2-7 record heading into yesterday against the Patriots and it felt like he might of finally been on the hot seat. The Boz made a huge kick at the end and the Steelers defence bent but didn’t break in what was a very exciting game.
There is a massive game in Carolina tonight that will go a long way in telling us more about home field advantage in the NFC. It’s going to be a very intriguing final 2 weeks here and i hope you guys are enjoying this crazy season as much as i am. Oh and by the way Saturday night football is absolutely beautiful.
