What an incredible weekend we have in front of us. This weekend is second only to the divisional round. Cherish every game that we have left. The playoffs are amazing but they are so bittersweet. We have only 11 NFL games left before we have to take on the worst month of the year without football (February). The best way to go into the offseason is with some cash in your pockets so lets see who’s going to do that for you tomorrow.
Texans vs Colts: Texans Opened 3 point favorite, Currently 1. O/U 48.5
Lets get into the trends first. These teams split during the regular season with both games being decided by 3 points so there is a great chance this is going to be a close game. That immediately makes me want to tease the Colts up to +7. Andrew Luck has been great against the AFC South going 20-8-3 ATS , The Colts are 3-1 ATS in its last four against the Texans. The one that they didn’t cover was the first game this season where they said they did not want to tie the game. The Texans have not been great against winning teams, they are 1-5 ATS against them but are also 8-2 ATS after a win this year and 6-2 as a home favorite. On the other hand the Colts are 2-3 ATS as away dogs. 2 of those losses however were during their 1-5 SU start. Now that we got all of that out of the way here are my thoughts.
I like the Colts. Houston gave up 60 sacks for the first time since 2006. 60 sacks is absurd. Houstons o-line is a fucking dumpster fire. Sure they have incredible talent with Watson and Hopkins but they need time to make plays. On the other hand Luck has been sacked 9 times in their last 12 games. Fucking 9. The Texans have Watt & Clowney so this will be an awesome part of the game to watch but if they can’t get pressure the Texans secondary is awful. Luck has thrown for 464 and 400 yards against the Texans this season. I like the Colts and the Point or if you got it earlier in the week the points.
Now to the late game.
2. Cowboys vs Seahawks: Dallas opened 3 point favorite, now 1.5; O/U 43.5
Is this game in primetime? Yup. Russell Wilson is 22-7-3 ATS when starting a game at 6 p.m. ET or later, covering by 7.8 points per game. That’s a nice little stat going into tomorrow’s game…here’s a better one. As a home favorite, Jason Garrett is 17-32-1 and 0-2 ATS in the playoffs. The man crumbles when he is supposed to win. Now that Marvin Lewis is gone Jason Garrett is the new mediocre coach that should’ve been let go a while ago. Pete Carroll > Garrett & Wilson > Prescott. The matchup that will be fun to watch is Bobby Wagner vs Zeke. I can see Zeke easily getting 30+ touches. That is the strength of Seattle Defense. If Dallas has a chance they have to take advantage of Seattle’s weaker secondary but I don’t know if Dak has the ability to do that. I am rolling with Seattle and the points in this one plus I kinda like the under.
To Recap: LOVE THE DOGS. I have the Colts +1/+3 and the Seahawks +1.5/+3. I’m also going to do a 6 point teaser with both of them. Lastly, under 43.5 in the Dallas & Seattle Game.

Well if your mind wasn’t already blown by the NFL this year, this weekend certainly did that for you. The Rams and Chiefs who we all thought were locks to be in the Super Bowl this year after their amazing Monday nighter, both lost at home on the weekend. The Patriots lost consecutive games in December for the first time since 2002 and now have 5 losses on the road this season.
Teams that we thought were heating up heading into the playoffs laid absolute eggs. The Seahawks lost in San Fran, the Cowboys got shutout in Indy and i would throw my Dolphins in the mix as well but i think our miracles ran out last weekend.
Then there’s the teams everyone thought was dead that turned things around. Lets start with BIG DICK NICK and the Eagles, am i crazy to say the Eagles might be a better team with him at the helm. I am by no means saying he’s better than Wentz, but for whatever reason that team just looks better with him calling the plays. We also have the Steelers who were trending in the wrong direction, lost three in a row and have always had trouble with the Pats. Mike Tomlin had a 2-7 record heading into yesterday against the Patriots and it felt like he might of finally been on the hot seat. The Boz made a huge kick at the end and the Steelers defence bent but didn’t break in what was a very exciting game.
There is a massive game in Carolina tonight that will go a long way in telling us more about home field advantage in the NFC. It’s going to be a very intriguing final 2 weeks here and i hope you guys are enjoying this crazy season as much as i am. Oh and by the way Saturday night football is absolutely beautiful.

Move over Lombardi, Heisman, Nagurski, Thorpe or any other football human that has an award named after them. There is officially a new king in the football awards community. I introduce to you the Clausen, Tebow, Gabbert, Sanchez, Schaub, Osweiler, Leaf, Russell, Dilfer, Boller, Leinart, Weinke, Harrington, Carr, Couch, Peterman award. Each week I will be handing out this award to the QB that displayed an extreme proficiency in being terrible.
This weeks nominees:
Mark Sanchez: 6/14 for 38 Yards and 2 Interceptions
Mark Sanchez threw for 38 Yards and 2 interceptions in 3 Quarters of work and then was replaced by JOSH JOHNSON who threw for almost 200 the rest of the game. Not a great look for Mark but a GREAT look for this award. There is a reason why the award is names after him. His commitment to this award is appreciated more than he will ever know.
2. Kirk Cousins in Primetime & all Michigan State QB’s
Kirk Cousins is now 5-13 in primetime games and currently making 100 Million guaranteed. Imagine giving Cousins 100 Million lol
3. Russ Wilson: 10/20 for 72 Yards and one interception.
If you throw for 72 yards in an entire game and try to throw a pick 6 like this you automatically make the list. Especially when you’re Russ Wilson.
4. Ben Roethlisberger: Being a Drama Queen and waiting for god knows that to come back in the game.
The Winner is…
Its obviously Mark Sanchez. Mark is the King and it’s tough to knock him off of his mountain.
This is a tricky one tonight. The Vikings are 4-0 this year ATS coming off a loss but Kirk Cousins is also 1-3 ATS in primetime games. Seattle is 3-1 ATS as a home favorite and 4-2 ATS after a win so there is no real clear pick based off of those things except that Cousins always chokes in prime time games.
Making this pick even harder is that the Strengths & weaknesses of each team are so contradictory. Seattle can run, Vikings are great at stopping the run. Vikings line has been terrible so Seattle’s D line can have a day, but their secondary is terrible and the Vikings have great wide receivers. This would be a game that I would suggest you stay away from but that is not something I can do.
I am going with the Seahawks strictly because they are home and the Vikings have fucked me one too many times this year.
The internet will check you… Every… Single… Time. Evan Hill, a Seattle Seahawks fan and blogger for @HawkBlogger had a rollercoaster ride of emotions on Sunday and found out the hard way. Seattle’s first rounder Rashaad Penny was well on his way to joining a long list of running backs drafted in the 1st round who just couldn’t hack it in the NFL. Instead he joins another list of running backs who made their fans put their word to the test and nuts on the table. After running 42 times for 146 yards in his first eight games Penny was really given a chance to prove himself after it was announced Chris Carson would not be playing.
Care to guess what happens next?
Penny ripped off 56 yards on his first two carries.
As Penny picked up steam in the game so did Evan’s proclamation:
Penny would run 12 times for 108 yards and his first TD of the season. Now he will live forever immortalized on Evan’s chest. Yikes. Oh forgot to mention to make it worse, the Seahawks still lost the game to the Rams 36-31.
A sneak peak:
I can sympathize with Evan here as I too made what I thought at the time was an unattainable challenge out to the twitterverse. I woke up for the first NFL Sunday morning this season, quite hungover, saw folks giving the chosen one, our Pittsburgh savior, James Conner a hard time over his unique shag hairstyle. I told myself I wouldn’t allow this blasphemy to continue and I would stand with James. If he rushed for 100 yards and 2 TD’s against the Cleveland Browns (America’s new sweetheart at the time) that I would indeed cut my voluptuous mane to match his. Didn’t think much of it, but the internet did. They RT’d that thing into the ground and weren’t going to let me off the hook.
135 yards and 2 TD’s later I was left with this…
But it’s just hair, its grown back… mostly. Evan has unfortunately launched himself into a whole different stratosphere with a face tattoo on his chest. I hope he goes through with it though, so we’re not forced to label him a low life scumbag who isn’t worth his salt and can never be trusted because a man who goes back on his word is a coward and a liar and a cheat and you get it. Give the people what they want Evan! Rashaad showed up for you, time to show up for him!
