NBA Tuesday Chalk Talk

Last night we did the 50/50 split, not to mention the Clemson -5.5 and over that I said I was taking even though I ended up taking Bama. Nothing like second-guessing yourself and being wrong, it’s the best.

Never fear, we march on with our NBA games and attempt to stay hot as 2019 rolls on. Nothing says redemption like a Tuesday night slate that has an over/under set at exactly 230. We’ll start with that over as we travel to LA for a Hornets @ Clippers matchup. The Hornets can either put up 130 or mail it in and score 80 points while getting routed. I’m thinking tonight is a good ole fashioned shootout and even if I thought otherwise I’d be remiss to bet an under 230. Doc and his team of nurses will get the job done and put up a solid 123 so hopefully the Hornets can get at least 108 points on the board. The other over I like tonight is Hawks @ Raptors over 228.5. The Hawks haven’t had a big game in awhile and because Drake will be in attendance to see Trae Young, I’d assume there’s a points fest brewing up in Canada tonight. Raptors haven’t lost at home in quite some time and I don’t see why that would change tonight. Spread is set high at 14.5 and if the over/under goes down throughout the day I’d probably take the spread. That’s how you chalk up a spread just incase there’s an over/under change. Nothing like talking chalk, just the best.

The Thunder have been rocking and rolling as of late and they play the soft Minnesota T-Wolves team in Oklahoma tonight. Steven Adams must be Karl Anthony Towns’ biggest nightmare. Massive dude who could probably chop down trees for a living he’s so gritty. If KAT wasn’t playing basketball he’d be streaming on Twitch which is a great business but not even close on the scale of grit compared to chopping trees down. Coach Thibs got the boot which can sometimes rally a team but hopefully we get the KAT Minnesota team and not the D-Rose Minnesota team. D-Rose could be the best player in the NBA this year but that’s just what I’ve heard through the grapevine. The last game we’re going with is the team we bet against last night: the Denver Nuggets. Betting against James Harden right now is one of the worst things you could do. He’s too hot and you don’t bet against a rocket rising for the sun. Houston Rockets pun there, no big deal. But the Nuggets are going to Miami to play the Heat and I thin they bounce back after this loss. Heat are an East team and the Nuggets are one of the best teams in the West. Gotta ride with the Western Conference cause they’re so much better than the East. Nuggets +1 and that’s the best bet on the board for basketball tonight.

Recap: Hawks/Raptors over 228.5, Hornets/Clippers over 230, Thunder -8, Nuggets +1. College football is over and we have to prepare for basketball to be the only thing on tv for a little while. Late entry Iowa State -2.5 for the college game tonight but live and die with the Nuggets. Good luck to all trying to obtain the grain from their book master tonight.

Gordon Hayward could be BACK

Safe to say it hasn’t been the hottest start to the season for the Boston Celtics. 22-15 and fifth in the East isn’t where most of us expected the Celtics to be in the Lebron-less East. I thought it would take time for Brad Stevens to figure out his rotations and which players to play when, with everybody being healthy this year, but i didn’t think it’d take as long as it has. Last night we saw something different though, we saw the Gordon Hayward we all saw in Utah and what we all hoped we were getting before his gruesome leg injury in game one last year.

After that awful leg injury it was always going to take time for him to get back into the swing if things, but with Kyrie out he went off for a season-high 35 points and looked like the All-Star we know he can be.

If and I know its still a very big IF Hayward can find his forum with this Celtics team and Stevens can get his rotation rolling we all know this is a very very dangerous team.

I loved this pickup when the Celtics signed him last year and i loved it just as much last night watching him go off like the guy i saw in Utah. Its still a very long season and this could just be a one off, but if this Celtics team gets going and most importantly gets healthy, they are among the top teams in the league. As a Celtics fan it was fun to watch and if this team can mesh and get going the way we all know they can its going to be a very exciting and interesting rest of the season. LETS GO CELTS

NBA Wednesday In America

The NBA is slowly kicking it into gear this season and now that almost every bowl game was an unbelievable disappointment, the NBA is about to hit its stride. Let’s start the new year off right with winners across the board while staying hot in the college game.

We’re starting off with the obvious, as I try to get the games everyone knows I’m taking out of the way. Celtics are at home against a soft Timberwolves team that doesn’t do well against good defensive teams. The spread right now is Celtics -6.5 and I’m going to ride that spread into the ground. Brad Stevens is no punk, he knows if you foul KAT a few times with a little Johnny English on the hack that he’ll get quiet and afraid. Jimmy Butler didn’t forget to expose that team for what they are before leaving: soft and young. Celtics in a blowout in Beantown, don’t be afraid to double down on the first half spread and third quarter spread as well. I know I will. The second NBA spread we’re going to rock with tonight is my brother from another country, Luka Doncic. The Mavericks are heading to Charlotte to take on Kemba Walker and they are 2.5 point dogs against the Hornets. I know they are good, but I’m still not convinced they can take down the most suave european basketball player we’ve seen in a long time. I’m riding with the Mavericks +2.5 and if the spread gets smaller I’ll probably get in on the Mavericks Moneyline mobile as well.

The last two NBA games I’ll be dabbling in are both over 230’s. How lucky we are to have not one, but two NBA games with their over/unders set at 230. That’s how I know that this Wednesday and New Year has been blessed by the over gods. Hawks/Wizards is set at 230 and Pelicans/Nets is set at 230.5. There’s nothing like a couple over 230’s to get us ready to run through the wall that is 2019. I’m going way over on both of these games but if I had to pick my favorite it would be Hawks and Wizards. Both those teams don’t give a shit this year and just want to up those stats heading into the Summer. Trae Young with a 40 spot and I wouldn’t be surprised to see headband Bradly Beal to make an appearance.
Different Bradley but look at that fake baby

The college game has brought me great joy thus far but I know that will turn at some point. With that being said, the college games that we’re taking are absolutely winners. Maryland -1 at home and Nevada -10 at home. Both games are conference games and Maryland has a little chip on their shoulder now that they’re out of the top 25. Nevada needs to make a statement in the Mountain West if they want to be considered a legit contender so look for them to blow Utah State out of the water.

Recap: Celtics -6.5, Mavericks +2.5, Hawks/Wizards over 230, Pelicans/Nets over 230.5, Maryland -1, Nevada -10. Let’s start this new year the right way and win all over the place tonight.

NBA Report On A Beautiful Monday

I don’t wanna hear about the Patriots. Right now, I’m not worried about the New England Patriots, I’m worried about what games you people are going to cash out in. My focus remains laser like and these games are a shoe-in to win you money.

It’s always a shame when the Celtics aren’t playing on Monday cause I really need a Boston victory to get the spirits up after whatever happened yesterday. Unfortunately, we don’t have Brad’s Boys to dominate a team today. Never fear cause all four of these picks will win us money and all will be right in the world. Today, we’ll start with the elusive over 230. I don’t know if the Kings have ever played in a game and not allowed 100 points. Actually, the Kings have given up at least 100 points in every game except for one since November 12th against the Spurs when they allowed 99 points. Naturally, we’re going to take Kings @ Twolves over 232. This is a great over game and if De’Aaron Fox and Karl Towns have a night then I’m sure we’ll hit this high over. The second over/under I’ll be taking is the Grizzlies @ Warriors which right now is at 210. Initially, I loved this under because anytime a Warriors game is set under 220, it’s almost like Vegas just knows they will have a little trouble. I wrote “under 210” in my notes, but as I go to say I’m taking the under of 210 in a Warriors game, I’ve flopped to the over. Grizzlies @ Warriors, over 210. The Warriors can put up 115 on their own and if the Grizzlies can’t get to 95 then the next over/under for a Warriors game that’s set at or below 215 will receive my mortgage on that bet.

One of the two spreads were taking tonight is the “bet against the Bulls” strategy. The Bulls have to go to Oklahoma City to play the Thunder who are ripping teams right now. The Thunder have a different feel to them this year. Steven Adams is gonna be an all star, Paul George is having a great year, and the biggest thing is they got rid of Carmelo Anthony. Not to mention, the Bulls are still one of the biggest circus acts in the NBA. Thunder at -12.5 is a big spread but not when you’re playing the Bulls at home. Bulls @ Thunder tonight and we’re taking the Thunder at -12.5. The last game is my most anticipated match up of the night. A lotta people would say this is a terrible game, but I think this equates to the Super Bowl for the number 1 pick, a conference championship to the very least. Suns @ Knicks in the early year toilet bowl that makes this Monday extra special. The combined record of these two teams is 15-46. This game is going to be an absolute showdown. Normally, in a game like this with one franchise being the team that plays in MSG, I’d go for the home court advantage. However, I like the Suns for some reason tonight so I’m taking them at +1 in New York City. Deandre Ayton and Devin Booker help get the victory in New York and I still believe the future is bright in Sun country. Unlike this lady, who seems to be all in on ridding the world of Suns owner Robert Sarver.

Would not want to be whoever ‘Ed’ is cause he’s receiving a mean stare from Ms. Greta Rogers. Can’t say I blame her, would suck to have top 3 picks every year and not see a lick of improvement. Come be a Celtics fan Greta, we aren’t very bad and when we are its usually a short period of time.

Recap: Kings/Twolves over 232, Grizzlies/Warriors over 210, Thunder -12.5, and Suns +1. Let’s do better than .500 tonight and .250 would be better cause then you people in fade season would go 3-1. Bet with me, bet against me, lets just hope we all end up with cash (impossible). Good luck in starting your betting week off right.

Is Going 2-3 In Gambling Good?

No, it’s not good, it was a rhetorical question, but we went 2 for 5 and it could be worse.

Yes, fade season is still in session, especially with how ice cold that Vikings pick was. I apologize to all Minnesota fans out there for my pick, but when the fade gods are in your favor, it really isn’t even in my hands at that point.  There is a higher power at work here and whether it’s the gambling demons or gods, I’ve been blessed by a higher or darker light. Last night in the NBA, we weren’t too bad at picking games, over under’s were terrible, but spreads were both locks. Golden State went under by 5 and the Nuggets went over by 4. Absolute shot to the nuts on both those, but it was exhilarating following the game cast. Warriors and Timberwolves can both go to hell but I’m over it cause the Celtics are 200% back.

Terry Rozier is one of the smaller guys in the NBA that I am afraid of but I know we would be friends because of my fandom. With that being said, we beat the Pelicans by 13 without Kyrie Irving. Not many teams can beat the Pelican’s without their best player while letting AD drop 41. Hell of a night for the Celtics and a hell of a morning for the Bulls too. Kings absolutely rolled the 6-22 Chicago Bulls. Second half score was 63-33. They should start thinking about tanking for Zion. Why not? The dude is a lock to be great in the NBA and is a moving refrigerator. On top of that, ticket sales and merchandise would skyrocket for whatever team gets him.

Tonight we got three games so we’ll hit them all and only take the spreads. Across the board I think tonight should go well. This has been my mindset since day one so take that with a grain of salt. Not sure if the Clippers are legit but I’m really hoping they are cause I’m gonna roll with the Doctor and the boys tonight. Clippers +4.5 at home against the Raptors and I like our chances riding with the best team in LA (@Lebron). Another underdog were going with is the Trail Blazers. They are +6.5 at the Rockets and I think the Rockets sort of suck now. To the very least they aren’t 7 points better than the Trail Blazers so I like Lillard and the funky bunch. Last is the Suns in San Antonio against the Spurs. I mean, the Suns have even less wins than the Bulls and Devin Booker might get his wish and have another first overall pick. The super team won’t just “come to him,” as he asked, but they’ll actually have drafted it. Booker, Ayton, and Barret or Zion would be unbelievable. But that’s next year, and tonight the Spurs destroy the Suns. Spurs -12.5 with the possibility of buying points up cause I think they beat the Suns by 30. Tuesday night basketball, let’s go.

NBA Picks To Keep The Fade Season Going

I’ve been red hot, and when I say red hot, we know I mean ice cold. Let’s keep it going for the sake of the people’s money.

First an foremost, I hope all of these don’t hit, but I will say I’m not against winning a bet before 2018 is over. The Celtics are hitting their stride and I figured I would get this one out of the way because of course I’m taking Celtics -7.5 at home against the Pelicans. We have big men that play defense and if you stop AD then the Pelicans really aren’t that good. Second pick will really judge whether fade season is still thriving. Kings -2.5 against a Bulls team that has won only 6 games. Call me crazy, but if the Bulls win cause I bet on the Kings then I will have a very difficult time deciding whether to laugh or cry. Chicago is 6-21, lets hope the Kings don’t act like the Kings we’ve all known for the last 10 years, unless you fade me then lets go Bulls.
My bookie’s for the past month

As of right now, there are no over/under’s that are above 230. With that being said, Minnesota @ Golden State is at 229 and I think it will go up as the day goes on. We’re going to take that over and hope KAT doesn’t play like Jimmy Butler says he does, soft. Due to no over/under’s being above 230, we are going to go with the elusive under. I hate betting under’s but were looking to stay hot (cold) so we might as well take one. Grizzlies @ Nuggets over under is at 198.5 and since it’s that low right now I think its going way under. Nuggets score a lot of points, so when an over under is set that low for a home game, my mind screams under under under.
Walking into work tomorrow after fading me and making millions

At the end of the day, this is a win win situation for us all. When I say for us all, I obviously am not included in ‘all’ or ‘us’. Celtics -7.5, Kings -2.5, Timberwolves/Golden State over 229 and Nuggets/Grizzlies under 198.5 – good luck to everyone in their gambling quest tonight.

Also like the Vikings tonight just so everyone is aware.

Derrick Rose Dropped 50 Last Night

No, Derrick Rose and 50 Cent didn’t get in a fight last night, he just scored 50 points.

Derrick Rose went from 100-0 faster than almost any other sports figure in my lifetime. The guy won Rookie of the Year, then the MVP, then the wheels (knees) started to fall off. Some may go back a year further than his rookie year and say the national championship was the beginning of the end, but hey, free throws are a pain in the ass. I lost thousands on fucking free throws all he did was lose a national championship.

This game last night is just another reason why sports can possess some of the best moments at any given time. Half the world doesn’t even think Basketball has started yet. But somehow, Derrick Rose comes out just a few weeks into the season and looks like the old #1 Derrick Rose we knew from the Bulls. I bet Thibodeau watched this entire game not even realizing he was coaching the T-Wolves and thinking they were in Chicago. He’s probably crying about the potential of him still being in Chi-Town with an uninjured D-Rose and Jimmy Butler. Don’t think many backcourts could match that skill if injuries were erased from history.

Insane how high this dude used to get up. On some of those rejections he was up above the block on the backboard. Those highlights were awesome too because it was the pre Golden State NBA.
