What The Bowl Games Should Have Been

CBS – Check out the entire CFP along with the New Year’s Six games below and keep scrolling for the remainder of the bowl slate.

It’s the best worst time of year as College Football comes to end, starting with Army Navy this Saturday.

My world when football stops for 7 months

Bowl games now don’t really mean too much, a big reason guys like Ed Oliver sit out so that they don’t get hurt going into the NFL draft. With that being said, the games they did decide on were underwhelming and thought there were some serious potential to see if an 8 team playoff really would be worth it going into next year. The first game that should of been scheduled this December was Georgia vs UCF. UCF hasn’t lost a game in two years and the best team not going to the CFP is Georgia. Why wouldn’t you put Georgia against UCF to see if the self proclaimed national champions really are legit. I get their quarterback is hurt and they would probably get blown out, but would be nice to see UCF go up against one of the best. If it was close then that game alone would be a big enough case to turn the CFP to 8 teams. Get rid of that blow away game that every big team has and lets add another week to the CFP. (Georgia vs Texas and UCF vs LSU)

Really, that was the only matchup that I wanted changed with all my college football might. A few other games I wanted to see were LSU vs Michigan and West Virginia vs Washington State. LSU and Michigan was just a game that I wanted to see cause both these teams were at the top of College Football for so many weeks of the season. I really like the Florida/Michigan game but with the defenses of LSU and Michigan, that game would wreak of an all out war. West Virginia and Washington State really should be changed into a game because it would be one of the more entertaining games of the entire season. These are two of the better gun slingers in the whole country and the fact that Will Grier and Gardner Minshew won’t be slinging it against each other is bologna. Not to mention a Mike Leach vs Dana Holderson battle that would have points on points on points.

Two of the games I thought the committee hit the nail on the head with was Ohio State vs Washington and Penn State vs Kentucky. The champions of the Pac 12 and the Big Ten in a bowl game that isn’t the college football playoff is rare so hopefully after Washington gets blown out the Pac 12 will start to get serious about their football again. UCLA and USC have to get back in the action cause right now the Big Ten dominates the Pac 12. Penn State Kentucky will be a great SEC Big Ten game to go with Michigan/LSU. I like this matchup cause of Trace McSorley vs the Kentucky defense. Always thought McSorely was a stud so hopefully he’ll put on a show and Kash Daniels will respond with a few big plays of his own. Very excited for this next month of football and very sad at the same time, lets hope we get some magic to carry us to next years season.

Everyone on February 4th

Degenerate Digs’ Saturday CFB Picks – 11/3

I’m not here to just give you winners, I’m here to tell you why they are winners so that you can decide if you want to roll with the Parlay King or not.

As always I’ve got 5 Picks for you on this beautiful Saturday with a loaded slate. Lets get into it.

1. Ohio St -19 vs Nebraska, O/U 72.5:

This pick is pretty simple for me. Ohio St is coming off a bye week after they were absolutely embarrassed by Purdue and have renewed energy by still being #10 in the CFP ranking. They know that if they win out and do so in an impressive fashion that they still have a good chance at making the playoffs. If Urban can remember, he’s not going to take his foot off the gas. Ohio St -19

2. Georgia -10 @ Kentucky, O/U 44.5

I hate going against huge home underdogs but if Kentucky has any chance they need to SLOOOOWWW this game way down. Their offense just isn’t dynamic enough to keep up with Georgia. If Georgia can stop the run Kentucky has 0 chance. Kentucky is only throwing for 150 yards a game. Not going to overthink this one, Georgia’s athletes are 10 points better than Kentucky’s. Georgia -10

Florida -6.5 vs Mizzou, O/U 57.5

Mizzou is 0-4 in the SEC and is coming off a devastating loss to Kentucky. Florida is also coming off a tough loss to Georgia but has 4 SEC wins and all have been by 7 points or more. I honestly don’t have a clue why the line is less than a TD and it actually concerns me a little but fuck it. Looking for Florida to bounce back vs an inferior opponent. Florida -6.5

Iowa +3 @ Purdue, O/U 50.5

Both teams were HOT coming into last week and both lost on the road to better teams. The huge difference in this game is going to be defense and Iowa has the far superior defense. Look for Iowa to control the game on the ground and have no problem covering the spread. Iowa ML is not a bad play either. Iowa +3

Penn St +10.5 @ Michigan, O/U 53.5

Penn St has 2 losses on the season by a combined 5 points. I do not think they will win by any means but 10 points is just too many points to give to a good team no matter how good Michigan is. Oh and you get that little hook on top of the 10 which almost guarantees victory. Who knows, maybe Penn St does win and Joe Pa shits his pants in hell. Penn St +10.5

Oh and of course Parlay all of them… obviously.

Degenerate Digs’ Saturday CFB Picks – 9/26

Im not here to just give you winners, I’m here to tell you why they are winners so that you can decide if you want to roll with the Parlay King or not.

I’ve got 5 Picks for you on this beautiful Saturday with a loaded slate. Lets get into it.

  1. & 2. Arizona St +3.5 @ USC, O/U 52

Being fully transparent I loved this game on Thursday when I put my college bets in and the line was USC -7 and the total was 54.5. I took ARIZONA ST +7 and the Under 54.5

Now here on Saturday the line has moved a full 3.5 points on the spread and 2.5 points on the total with speculation that USC will have to play with their 3rd sting QB. I still like Arizona St & the Under for that reason exactly. Arizona State’s defense is only giving up 21 PPG this year and I like their chances against a 3rd string QB. Not to mention on offense they have N’Keal Harry who can do things like this at anytime

3. Florida +7 vs Georgia, O/U 52

An SEC top 10 rivalry game at a neutral field and the spread is a full touchdown even though Florida beat LSU two games ago and Georgia lost to LSU by 20 last game.  I know you can’t bet off of just that but these rivalry games always seem to be close and 7 points is wayyyy too many to give the Gators. Not to mention that Georgia has only 2 wins against teams that have winning records, Middle Tennessee St & Mizzou, both teams being 4-3. Give me the Gators +7.

4. Miss St vs Texas A&M +1, O/U 43.5

Last week Miss St was getting their heads kicked in by LSU. Last week Texas A&M was resting on their bye week preparing for Miss St. What was Texas A&M preparing for??? It sure as hell wasn’t Mississippi State’s passing game. Miss St QB Nick Fitzgerald has thrown for 59, 69, & 98 yards the last 3 games, so basically Texas A&M can treat them as strictly a running team. Texas A&M is giving up 78 yards per game on the ground. This is a full hammer Texas A&M +1 situation.

5. Oregon -10 @ Arizona, O/U 65.5

Let’s not overthink this one. Arizona stinks, they are not good at all. Oregon is good and needs a big bounce back win.  That’s all there is to this one. Good Oregon > Bad Arizona. Lay the -10 with the Ducks.
