On today’s show, Pat and the guys record the show live from his backyard in what feels like an Indiana summer night. They discuss the NFL schedule release and highlight a couple of different games that they are looking forward to, including Packers vs. Bears to open the season on Thursday night, Steelers vs. Patriots on the first Sunday night, and a couple of the Thursday night and Monday night games that look to be good matchups. They squeeze in a little hockey talk as Pat has to respond to the city of Pittsburgh after the Pens got swept by the Islanders. They also discuss Russell Wilson’s new contract, and whether or not any of his teammates in the locker room actually like him. They also discuss movie biopics, and how Pat see’s the movie about his life unfolding. Also joining the show is 11 year NFL veteran, Pro Bowler, and the man who started the entire Deflategate situation by intercepting a Tom Brady pass, D’Qwell Jackson. He and Pat talk about their relationship as teammates, his video for The Uninterrupted about how all he wants is his playoff interception from the Deflategate game to be returned to him, and what he’s been doing to enjoy his retirement thus far. (4:15-18:44) To close out the show, Zito makes a triumphant return trying to read and ad, and the guys each give their favorite summer banger to give you something to chew on heading into the weekend. It’s a fun show, come and laugh with us. Cheers.
On today’s show, Pat and the Roadhawks come to you live from possibly the nicest hotel room on the planet overlooking the New York City skyline. They discuss the 2nd leg of their #RoadToWrestlemania trip from DC to Baltimore and from Baltimore to New York City, and chat about some of the things they’ve been doing so far in New York including Boston Connor not knowing how to act like an adult around other professionals when the crew went to the Bleacher Report offices, the #RoadToWrestlemania video that they put together for the WWE (available on their Twitter, Youtube, and Facebook), Zeet’s many personalities coming to life throughout the trip, and the guys dive into Pat and Nick’s experience going to a local barber shop in Brooklyn and the hilarity that ensued there. They also question if teams need an elite WR to win a Super Bowl when discussing whether or not the Chiefs are going to give Tyreek Hill big time money, and Pat breaks down how he was booked possibly the worst hotel room in New York City before moving to his new hotel, while Foxy got booked what is essentially the penthouse suite. Also included are some hilarious moments from The Lefkoe Show that Pat recorded with Bleacher Report’s Adam Lefkoe from today (1:17:18-2:04:13). Also don’t forget to check out the NXT preshow (Friday) and Wrestlemania preshow (Sunday) that are offered for free to new subscribers of the WWE Network. Today’s episode is a fun one, come and laugh with us. Cheers.
On today’s show, Pat and the other Roadhawks come to you live from a hotel in Baltimore on their trek to Met Life Stadium for Wrestlemania. They discuss the road trip so far, discussing the content Pat has made for the WWE and their time in Hershey, PA for a WWE live event, to Washington D.C. where they got an exclusive tour of the capitol from sitting US Representative from Ohio’s 16th congressional district and Pat’s former Colts teammate, Anthony Gonzalez, to winding up at a mansion outside of Washington D.C. for dinner. They also cover Foxy’s rough week so far, the NCAA tournament and whether or not Coach K blew his utilization of Zion down the stretch against Michigan St. and Pat’s budding fan hood for Purdue basketball. Pat and the Roadhawks also discuss how they’re out on April Fools Day and the many pranks he was involved in while at training camp, they send their thoughts and prayers out to Nipsey Hussle and his family after his tragic passing, and look ahead at the rest of the trip that still includes stops in Philadelphia, New York City, and New Jersey. Also included is a road interview with WWE superstar and Pat’s former Colts teammate, Baron Corbin, who joined the Roadhawks on their trip from Hershey to Washington D.C. (1:20:24-1:38:12). It’s a fun one. Come and laugh with us, cheers.
Now that was an amazing weekend of basketball. Every single game on Saturday and Sunday was a barn burner. We had two games go to overtime and we also saw three number one seeds eliminated, only Virginia of all the number one seeds made it to the final four. If anyone had that in their bracket i applaud you, my bracket is DEAD and my soul was taking with Purdue somehow not covering the spread. Literally everything that could of went wrong did for them to somehow lose that game by 5.
In what was probably the game of the weekend, at least for me anyways because Duke lost. This game felt like the last two Duke played, they trailed a bit but seemed like they would pull out another one at the death. Fortunately for most us Duke haters that didn’t happen. Tom Izzo out coached Coach K in this one and the give the ball to Zion and hope for the best plan finally didn’t work out. Now we can all get off the Tom Izzo is too hard on his players theory RIGHT!!
The lines are out for both games with Michigan State at -2.5 over Texas Tech and Virginia at -5.5 against number five seed Auburn. Im still torn on these games but if i had to give a humble opinion right now i would take Texas Tech and Auburn to cover the points. Im honestly considering taking both teams moneyline for some good value. Texas Tech’s suffocating defence is something i haven’t seen in years in this tournament and it feels like it just keeps getting better the deeper into the madness we get. I also like Auburn, they just have something about them that feels like a team of destiny vibe. Im also not completely sold on Virginia and feel like they were very fortunate to get by Purdue and Carsen Edwards.
Lets take some time and gather our thoughts this week before the final four begins this weekend. I will be stuck working 12 hour shifts on a cruise ship but all y’all make sure to enjoy the last few days of what has been an amazing March Madness. Lets grind out this Monday and have a week y’all.
On today’s show, Pat and the guys dive deep into everything that happened over the weekend in March Madness including the legend of Zion Williamson continuing to grow with an incredible performance in Duke’s win over UCF, teams utilizing the 4 and 5 point play, whether or not the tournament has lived up to expectations this year with almost all chalk moving on to the Sweet Sixteen, and Orange Vanilla Coke’s quest to become the official drink of TV timeouts during March Madness. Pat also details one of the worst customer service afternoon’s he’s ever had while at Applebee’s with some of the guys, and gives an update on the engagement ring he bought for Sam. Pat also gives a heartfelt ode to Gronk as the guys discuss his retirement, his legacy in the NFL, and what comes next. Pat also recounts a couple of stories from his NFL career, including his wild poker run during the early part of his career, and he thinks back to his glory days playing soccer in high school and with the U18 national team as he recalls how other players probably remember him, and how he was a footsal national champion. This one has a little bit of everything. Come and laugh with us, cheers.
Its a day later and I’m still in awe of what happened in the Duke game. UCF had them down and out and somehow Zion willed this team to victory. The ball literally sat on the inside of the rim and time froze till it popped out and Duke held on to get to the sweet sixteen.
The way the game ended was true heartbreak for UCF and probably most of the world who all love watching Duke lose. This game turned on the missed alley oop though, UCF had a chance to go up six with under a minute left and missed. Duke then went back down the court to cut the lead to one with a three. I have UNC to win this thing in my bracket and i do feel that this bodes well for that to happen. Although Duke snuck away yesterday with a win i don’t see them getting passed Gonzaga in the final four if both teams get there.
Anyone who says that this Duke team is likeable, I strongly disagree, as long as coach K is at the helm I will never find Duke likeable what so ever. They are however the most athletic team in this tournament by a landslide. They still have a great chance at winning this thing but I just have a feeling their not so great three point shooting will be their demise at some point in this tournament. Yesterday was just a reminder that we all still hate Duke, only they could somehow pull out a win at the end of that game, after UCF was very much deserving of the win. Today is a sad day in sports with no madness after watching hours and hours over the weekend. Were down to the sweet sixteen and their is still a lot of ball to watch though, hopefully we see more games like this one going forward. Lets get this week started ya’ll and well be back to the MADNESS in no time. Cheers
On today’s show, Pat and the guys are locked in on the start of March Madness and chat about who they think is going to make some noise in the tournament, which spawns a conversations about the greatness of Zion Williamson, and whether or not he is the next LeBron. Also, one of the most electric guys around, sports handicapper, inspiration for the film “Two for the Money,” and friend of the show, Brandon Lang, calls into the show to talk March Madness and give the guys a few sure fire locks as well as some other plays for deeper in the tournament, and tells some hilarious stories. If you’re looking for free money, look no further (3:17-30:02). Also joining the show are two of the most accomplished entertainers in the history of sports entertainment. Holders of various titles, icons of the sport, The Hardy Boyz (Matt and Jeff Hardy) join the guys in studio to chat about their illustrious careers, what has changed in the wrestling business over the years, whether or not either one has any fear doing the insane stunts that they’ve pulled for years, what they still want to do in their careers before it’s all said and done, who some of the wrestlers that helped them early in their careers were, and they each share some hilarious stories about their different concepts along the way and take a look back to their early days when they were wrestling in their backyard and appearing on RAW at the ages of 16 and 18, respectively. It’s an incredible conversation with two incredible humans (50:01-1:21:39). Today is a really fun one. Come and laugh with us, cheers.
The TNT games tonight are a couple of doozies. First, we get the talked about Pelicans going to take on the Rockets. Then, we go to LA where the Lakers welcome Embiid and the boys to town. There is money to be made in these games so let’s get to it.
Pelicans @ Rockets is the first game on TNT and I don’t know exactly what to think. Always tough when your best player asks to be traded but sometimes teams can react differently to that type of noise. Holiday may say “Hey AD, look at me, I can score. Maybe we recruit someone here?” AD still says nah I’m good, but the idea of points galore tonight is there. For that reason, I’m taking the over in this game even though its set at 234. CP3 still needs to get his rhythm back but thats gonna happen tonight when the Rockets go for 140 and the win. It’s always nice getting an over 230 game to match with a TNT Tuesday. For the Sixers/Lakers matchup, there are a few things to take a peak at. When I say a few things, I mean one, and his name is Joel Embiid. He’s the best big man in the NBA bar none and there’s nobody on the Lakers that can stop him. That, on top of Ben Simmons and no Lebron James, is the reason Sixers -6.5 is a lock tonight. Sixers will handle the Lakers and soon the team will be blown up as they make a move for AD. Mark my words, if he’s not traded by the deadline it’s cause the Pelicans want our 3 first round picks, Terry, Smart, and maybe Brown. Who knows, I’d throw Hayward in too if they would take him.
For the college game, we’re going to ride with the hot team and by that I mean the #1 team in the country, Tennessee. The Vols go to South Carolina to take on the gamecocks in a little Tuesday night college duel. The SEC has had a great year for basketball and that will continue for Tennessee against a mediocre SC team. The Vols are -8.5 and they’ll continue on as the best team in the country, for now.
Recap: Pelicans/Rockets over 234, Sixers -6.5, Tennessee -8.5. Those are the three games that I like tonight so let’s hope we got some winners. There may be more picks coming later so keep an eye out.
Have I been cold as of late? Absolutely. Is there rain before rainbows? Every time my friend. We’ll get some NBA and some college but more than anything we’ll get some world class winners. Let’s dive into Super Bowl Week with these games tonight.
Tonight, there’s a few games to chose from but we’re going with the age old strategy of betting with the best teams. Look, there’s no need to overthink things in the wishy washy NBA. We’re almost half way through the season and by now the teams who are on the bottom tier should all be thinking Zion Zion Zion. With that being said, the Warriors are heading to Indiana and without Victor Oladipo, the hope in the Pacers season is dwindling. Warriors are coming off a big win against the Celtics and had a nice day to rest yesterday. I’m taking the Warriors -8.5 and I assume this line will go up as the day goes on. Warriors are rolling and that continues tonight with a wounded Pacers team. Speaking of wounded teams, the Memphis Grizzlies are crumbling from the heart and Gasol/Conley are both up for grabs. When your team is shopping the two best players they have, things could be better. For Denver, they’ve become a serious contender and with Isaiah Thomas coming back after the all star break, they could be a force. I don’t think they’ll beat the Warriors, but they will definitely beat the Grizzlies tonight by 7. Nuggets are -6 and will continue to roll tonight against a team that doesn’t know where it’s going.
The college game can be very unforgiving. There has been bad beat after bad beat this year in the college game but we’re going to reverse that curse tonight. The only team that would be able to do it, aside from my Oregon Ducks of course, is the team that has frogs with horns. That’s right, the TCU Horned Frogs take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders tonight in Texas. TCU is +4.5 and are 4-1 in their last 5 ATS. I’m not a stats guy, but if I was, that stat would for sure convince me to take TCU. Texas Tech screwed me last time I took them so now it’s time for some revenge, frog revenge that is. TCU +4.5 tonight at Texas Tech and look for a big conference win for the Frogs tonight.
Recap: Warriors -8.5, Nuggets -6, TCU +4.5. Those are the three basketball games to take for tonight and if you don’t like any of them then the TCU under seems to be a smart play. Good luck to all and lets get those account balances in the green.
Good day to all and to all a good day. We’ve got winners across the board and your bookie is going to need extra provolone for his salami sandwich cause we’re going to rob him blind. We’re dying for a little food, so let’s serve some apps.
Digs – Houston +2 – You’re going to make the beard a home dawg? Tony’s jumping on that like the first slice of pizza he’ll jump on after the weight loss challenge.
Connor – Denver -15 – The Phoenix Suns are coming off a back to back and the Nuggets are one of the best home teams in the NBA this year. I like them more than I like the lasagna I had for dinner last night.
Gorms – Milwaukee -11 – Sticking to his guns, the Greek Freak is fast and he shoots.
Digs – Wizards +3.5 – In what world does Orlando deserve to be this big of a favorite? Tony Digs asks and nobody can give an answer.
Connor – Michigan -4 – Michigan off a loss is going to be a team on a mission. Same way I’m on a mission to find the greatest chicken parmesan sub in Indianapolis.
Gorms – Brooklyn -10 – Gorman is all over D’Angelo Russell and thinks he’ll be hitting all night. Plus, he shoots and he’s fast, fast.
Digs – Denver -15 – Suns stink, Nuggets are good. That’s all that needs to be said for Tony.
Connor – Jazz -10 – Minnesota is coming off a back to back and Rudy Gobert will give Karl Anthony Towns the business all night. Love the Jazz just like I love my dessert.
Gorms – Jazz -10 – Joe Ingles can shoot, but he isn’t fast. Gorman isn’t worried either way.
Those are the picks for tonight, go tell your bookie to back up the dump trucks cause he’ll need to with these winners on the board.
